Art contest: My Los Angeles
CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of our annual art contest which asked teens to show us what Los Angeles means to them. The L.A. Youth teen staff chose these images as the winners.

Third place, $50. Ubaldo Tapia, 17, Garfield HS. Teacher: Shirley Harris
“I painted a dusk scene because I can see my East L.A. neighborhood in the day and night. The two little kids are my little brother and sister watching the sunset. I like the sunset because it gives a feeling like another day is going by and it gives hope that tomorrow will be better. The rose I painted with a glow around it is symbolic of my mother, whose name is Rocio.”
